“Classical Fingers works - and works brilliantly! Beginners will
accelerate their learning, seasoned players can check their
finger technique and teachers will have comfort in knowing
that their student’s hands are in good hands. An ingenious,
beautifully made and presented world class musical
instrument accessory. An excellent product all round - every
clarinet player should "get their hands on one."
- David Temby (Performer, Educator and Creator of the
Temby® Instrument range) - Australia
“Classical Fingers has arrived! I have tried it and found it to
be awesome. You have created something that solves the age
old problem for clarinetists worldwide, the problem with 'high
fingers'. I believe its hard for beginners to be able to focus on
the pitch, embouchure etc and also to focus on the fingers to
stay low. Now Sean can just focus on his playing/learning the
clarinet and let the Classical Fingers to it’s job. Gone are the
'high and wild fingers'. I think its not only for beginners, it’s
for whoever feels that he/she has the fingers problem, like I
(still) do. Thank You Phil Lambert.”

“I am a huge fan of Classical Fingers. I play Buffet R-13. I
played clarinet in a community band a few days ago and it
was the 'public debut' in Japan of Classical Fingers. There was
a young girl (about 10 years old) playing her clarinet next to
me and I saw she was struggling with fingers. I let her play
the instrument with classical fingers and I saw her fingering
started to improve in ten minutes. She started to play the
music much smoother!! Phil Lambert, this is a great invention
indeed!!” - Katsuhiko Arai (Former Member of the Texas
Community College All-State Symphonic Band) - Japan
“Many times in my teaching I have wished for something like
this for students whose fingers fly up too high, compromising
their smooth technique! I get students to imagine a bed of
sharp nails sitting just above their fingers, with a
corresponding ‘Ouch' every time a finger flies up high!...I
congratulate you for the design awards you have won with it -
fantastic!” - Kate Stockwin (Performer, Educator and
Examiner) - Australia
“Congratulations on your most ingenious design – I love the
elegant look of it because as you say the clarinet is such an
elegant suave beast it would be such a shame to lose the
aesthetics of it.”
- Mark Walton (Performer, Educator and Composer) - New
Zealand/Australia
“Classical Fingers is great value for money! I was amazed at
the quality and design of the product and how quickly it
helped my students’ fingers to stay in the correct position.
For a fraction of the cost of lessons it is a fantastic one-off
investment when learning the clarinet....I highly recommend
it for all students.”
- Peter Thornbury (Teacher) - USA
“It looks stunning! (My Mom who studied visual arts in France
and has a degree in it said, "Awwwh.... this looks so
beautiful!")......it works like how it's described: it's fantastic.
My teacher said before I got the product "You have perfect
hand positioning and I have nothing to say about it." I was
skeptical using this thinking "There's no way it'll help me" but
here it is and already my hand positioning is going far
beyond.”
- Edward Yeo (Advanced Student) - USA
“It’s remarkable how quickly it has worked on his fingers.”
- Jules Paxton (Father of Student) - Australia
“The classical fingers was received in well condition...thank
you so much for designing this wonderful product.” - Richard
Fong (Performer and Educator) - Hong Kong
“I would like to congratulate you for Classical Fingers, it is
very impressive.”
- Cristo Barrios (Performer and Educator) - Spain
“You can really feel the pressure to keep your fingers
down...it works really well for this piece (Cavallini - Grade V
AMEB).” - Anna Solovjev (Adult Student) - Australia
“It is magic. I could feel the difference in my playing after
several minutes crossing "the break” and it would certainly
help reduce the RSI I have in my right hand. When I happened
upon your vimeo clip the other night I knew I had to have one
even before your clip had finished. So once again thank you.”
- Kim Olsen (Student) - Australia
LEARNING TOOLS
• When using Classical Fingers try to test
yourself by not touching the guard. Try simple
scales at first and then move onto some of
your pieces (this is the real test to see how
high your fingers have been incorrectly
positioned)
• Try to keep your R.H and L.H little fingers
close to the silver keys at all times. This will
help you remember where the keys are in
relation to the notes you are playing and also
reduce the “Blurpy” sound during your finger
transitions
• If you find your fingers are coming off the
clarinet unevenly (causing a “blurpy” sound
when you slur) you can use Classical Fingers to
improve this. Simply try to tap the guard with
your fingers at the same time whilst playing
between notes - this will ensure your fingers
will come off the keys at the same time e.g.
play a low C and then flick your 2nd and 3rd
fingers off so they tap the guard whilst
slurring to your E. You will feel and hear the
immediate results
• For more advanced players, try playing your
high altissimo notes and notice how your L.H
Index finger remains lower with Classical
Fingers on. Then try playing chromatically
from high C# - high G and you will be amazed
at the smoothness
• Once you have used Classical Fingers for at
least 10 minutes, clip it to your music stand
and try playing without it. You will
immediately feel and hear the improvement in
your playing
• Always keep Classical Fingers close by so you
can quickly check if your fingers are remaining
in the correct position. The more you use it
the better you will play!
• Always use Classical Fingers before a recital
or exam. This will ensure that you will give
your best performance
Classical Fingers is made of strong durable ABS
complementing the design and structure of the
clarinet.
By simply attaching two specifically designed
magnetic bands to the lower Barrel Joint
(bands fit all Barrel sizes) and Middle Joint,
Classical Fingers clips into perfect position
using strong rare earth magnets, providing both
support and stability for the guard. In return,
Classical Fingers covers all of the essential keys
and holes on the clarinet, whilst maintaining an
optimum height in which the fingers can move
smoothly whilst playing.
When you have finished using Classical Fingers
simply leave the magnetic bands on the clarinet
when you pack it away and attach the guard to
your music stand via the magnets. In transit,
keep it in the microfiber bag supplied or store
it in the box it comes with for protection.
Stretch one of the magnetic bands
on to the silver at the bottom of the
Barrel Joint & the other on to the
silver of the Lower Joint before
assembling the Clarinet. Make sure
that the magnets point down (as
shown in picture)
Align the magnets with the key
holes and simply clip the finger
guard into place by joining both
sets of magnets
You’re ready to play!

Classical Fingers is an essential part of learning
to play the clarinet, like having a music stand,
the correct reeds, clarinet music, and a good
teacher! It reinforces the correct clarinet
technique a student learns in their clarinet
lesson so that every time they practise they are
not developing bad habits - it’s like having a
clarinet teacher there every time you practise.
Not only is Classical Fingers essential for
beginners but is great for all levels of players.
Whether preparing for a recital, an examination,
or just for leisure, Classical Fingers eliminates
any unnecessary finger movement ensuring a
better performance and improved results.
