Phil Lambert was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, and it was only by chance that he started the clarinet. Phil’s original plan was to learn the Saxophone but his parents had heard it was more beneficial to start off on the clarinet, so at the age of 11 he started learning the clarinet. Phil quickly took to music and fell in love with the clarinet, and within one year had won a music scholarship into high school where he furthered his music education learning Saxophone, Flute, Piano, Guitar, Music Theory, and Composition. His love of music was fully cemented and led him to completing his Degree in Music from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand in 2001. After completing his degree, Phil relocated to Melbourne, Australia where he continued his musical career as a Composer, Teacher, and Performer, and established his own company, Cloudbreak Music®. Phil has performed live at various public venues, radio stations and appearances on T.V in New Zealand and Australia, and has composed for Feature Films, Film Trailers, Short Films, Media Projects and TVCs, as well as received radio play and interviews for his compositions. Phil has built a successful private woodwind teaching business in Melbourne and was the creator of the internationally recognised product, Classical Fingers® which is now helping students around the world to improve their technique on the clarinet.
